Albert Benjamin Smith Funeral for Albert Benjamin Smith, 85, of Center, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Paul Risk officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Yard Cemetery, Center. Born Feb. 19, 1918, in Sharon, Idaho, he was the son of Thomas and Lucy Crossley Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving as a top sergeant. Smith was a retired professor of engineering graphics and power systems at Utah State University. He was also a high priest in the Church of Latter-Day Saints, and taught Sunday school and priesthood classes. Survivors include his wife, Maurine Smith of Center; sons, Gerald Smith of Tremonton, Utah, Hayden Smith of Roy, Utah, Warren Smith of Denver, Colo.; daughters Carolyn Tibbetts of Moab, Utah, Melanie Liechty of Logan, Utah; brother, Nathan Smith, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mangum Funeral Home, Center.
