Texas A&M has set up a special website, footballthursday.tamu.edu, to inform fans, students, faculty and others about changes to transportation, tailgating and more when the Aggies play Northwestern State at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30.
Former students are likely to be most affected by the parking and tailgating changes that day. Beginning as early as noon, and accelerating between 3 and 5 p.m., some normal campus operations will start switching to "Gameday"-type protocols used on Saturdays. See footballthursday.tamu.edu for details and updates.
Starting at 4:30 p.m., The Association will host its regular home-game All-Aggie Tailgate — free game-watching with food and drink concessions in the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center, open to the public. Details: tx.ag/gameday
But other changes do start as early as Wednesday night, with some tweaks for early tailgaters and others.
For example, what would normally be a Friday-night Midnight Yell Practice will instead be just "Yell Practice" on Wednesday at 10 p.m. in Kyle Field. The A&M yell leaders supported this change that takes into consideration the fact that Aggie students have regular classes the next morning.
As you make your plans for the rest of the season, remember you can come to The Association's free All-Aggie Tailgate at any football game, home or away — this year's stops include Tuscaloosa, Arlington, Columbia, Starkville and Auburn!
