Texas A&M’s six-year graduation rate again tops Texas’ major public universities, and remains well ahead of the state average.

Statewide, 60.9 percent of public university students who entered in fall 2011 graduated within six years. At Texas A&M, that figure was 86.8 percent, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board reports.

Texas A&M’s rate is higher than any Texas public university except the University of Houston-Clear Lake, a school of around 8,600 students that consistently has a 100-percent six-year graduation rate.
