Recent former students are encouraged to create a profile to be considered for the Texas A&M University 12 Under 12 Young Alumni Spotlight, honoring some of the best and brightest recent graduates, said Clay Jackson ’09, coordinator of Former Student Programs at The Association of Former Students.
“We want to spotlight young former students that are out in the world making a lasting impact and carrying on those core values that they learned while enrolled at Texas A&M,” Jackson said.
The award recognizes 12 Aggies who have graduated within the past 12 years for their outstanding accomplishments in business, civic service and philanthropy, and for representing Texas A&M’s core values of excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect and selfless service.
Anyone can create a profile to be considered by visiting tx.ag/12Under12 until May 5.
“I think it’s a validation of the hard work that they’ve put in and reaffirms the success they are seeing,” Jackson said of the honor. “The Association of Former Students wants to share your accomplishments throughout your career, not just while you’re a current student. We want to brag about you as you go out into the world and make a name for yourself.”
A third-party selection committee will evaluate all the applicants and choose 12 to be honored. The winners will be announced in October and featured in the January-February issue of Texas Aggie magazine.
“If you stand out in your career field, regardless if you’re a P.E. teacher, a restaurant owner, a CEO or have achieved a high rank in military service, you’re still representing the best of A&M’s young alumni,” Jackson said, encouraging all to complete their profile.
