H.K. "Keith" Sterzing

H.K. "Keith" Sterzing was born to Carl Bruce and Minna May Sterzing in Austin, Texas February 1, 1939. He was a 1957 graduate of Travis High School in Austin, TX and 1961 graduate of the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas (now Texas A&M University). After graduating from Texas AMC, He served 6 years in the United States Marine Corps until he was honorably discharged in 1969. He married the future Mrs. Virginia Field Sterzing on December 28, 1968. Throughout his life he continued with post graduate education at six different universities. He retired as a high school teacher, a federal civil servant, and was continuing to work as a financial planner, which he has been for 36 years. Keith was also very active in the Orthodox Church and regularly worshiped at the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke Serbian Orthodox Mission Parish in Leander, Texas.

Keith was called home to the Lord on July 21, 2017.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents Carl Bruce and Minna May, and his sister-in-law Betty, and is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia, his children Lara, Peter and Kerstin, Sergei and Jessica, and Tatyana, his grandchildren Dominique, Alex, Ariana, Taylor, Blake, and Briella, his brothers Bruce and Ross and their families, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and family and friends.

Keith's graveside service will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery Annex in Austin, Texas at 10am on Wednesday July 26, 2017. The address is 1631 Comal St., Austin, TX 78702.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the H. Keith Sterzing '61 Memorial Scholarship Fund (https://www.youcaring.com/hkeithsterzing-885429), or to the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke Serbian Orthodox Mission Parish in Leander, Texas.
