Scot Walker '90 July 17, 2017 11:19 AM updated: July 17, 2017 5:15 PM

The Association of Former Students recently received awards from two different organizations for videos highlighting the support The Association provides to the Aggie Network.

CASE – 2017 Circle of Excellence

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education has named The Association of Former Students a silver award winner of its 2017 Circle of Excellence awards program. The Association was recognized for its Around The Association video series (tx.ag/AroundTheAssociation). A panel of experts selected the institution’s entry in the Marketing and Branding category.

In 2017, more than 715 higher education institutions, independent schools and nonprofits worldwide submitted more than 3,364 entries for consideration in nearly 100 categories. Judges gave 366 awards: 118 bronze; 125 silver, 107 gold and 16 grand gold. The Council for Advancement and Support of Education is one of the largest international associations of education institutions, serving more than 3,670 universities, colleges, schools and related organizations in more than 82 countries.

CASE is the leading resource for professional development, information and standards in the fields of education fundraising, communications, marketing and alumni relations.

Telly Awards

The Association of Former Students was recently honored with two bronze Telly Awards, one for the Around The Association video series (tx.ag/AroundTheAssociation) and another for the Stories of Impact feature focused on one of its student scholarship recipients (tx.ag/JoshSutton). A prestigious judging panel of more than 600 accomplished industry professionals reviewed over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents.

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding content for TV and cable, digital and streaming, and non-broadcast distribution. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

Marty Holmes '87, The Association's vice president for marketing and programs, said the awards are a testament to team members who work hard to tell the story of The Association and of the Aggie Network.

"I love it when our staff and our organization's efforts and progressiveness are noted in the industry," Holmes said. "Special recognition should go to Randy Reyes '01 and the team working on these projects."

Reyes, who has undergraduate and graduate degrees in marketing from A&M, is The Association's director of marketing and the executive producer of The Association's videos.
