It's been a fantastic year for the Brazos County A&M Club, with more than 600 members (nearly triple 2015's roster), many happy faces at lunches and Howdy Hours and a lot of great fun at events like the baseball Lead-Off and Coach's Night.
The hard work and the generosity of BCAMC members this year enabled $78,000 to be provided to A&M-related causes. You'll be sending incoming Aggies to Fish Camp; feeding A&M students, faculty and staff in times of need; boosting the A&M libraries; and quite a lot more.
An event such as Coach's Night (a gala night attended by 800 this year) or the 2016 BCAMC Muster (148 names called, more than 650 attending) is put together -- from planning to setting up the chairs and flowers -- by you. So please read the rest of this story in the knowledge that your membership dues, your time spent volunteering, your auction bid on a Von Miller football or your donation of a pound of canned food made these things possible. Thank you.
We heard from some terrific speakers this year -- A&M's vice president of Student Affairs, the Aggies' baseball coach, the new junior yell leaders and more, not to mention the university's new president, Michael K. Young -- and more are coming up next year. If you purchase your lunches in advance for the year, you get two free lunches! (Who says there's no such thing.)
Subject to change, here's the current slate:
Watch for these events also coming in 2017:
Visit bcamc.org to renew membership, pay for lunches and see what's new -- in fact, the whole web site is new; thank you also to those unsung volunteers who made that happen! The site looks great; come check it out.
The officers for 2017 have also been elected. Think you might like to serve in one of these positions in the future? Let us know!
