Lester Keith Taylor
1927 - 2016

Les would tell you that he was no angel in his early years on the family ranch near Center Point, TX. He loved the Texas Hill Country and over the years he has told his family and friends many stories about his childhood and the many colorful characters he encountered along his life journey that began February [21], 1927. Les went home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 2[5], 2016, in Plano, TX with his family by his side. He served his country honorably during the Korean War and returned home to marry the love of his life, Patricia Ann Patterson of Fort Worth, TX. They met at Texas A&M University and were married August 26, 1951. Les was an Aggie entomologist and that led him to a career with Chevron Chemical Company where he lived in Shreveport, LA and Greenville, TX. He and Patricia retired to 100 acres near Hawkins where he made many friends that will miss him. He had a great passion for the outdoors, trees, and the thousands of bulbs he had planted on his property. Les is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann of Plano, TX, daughter Lesliann Ortega and husband Jesse Ortega of Plano, TX, daughter Karen Wisdom and husband, Fritz Wisdom of Plano, TX, and grandson Robert Lenore and wife Gari-Ann of McKinney, TX, and Keith Lenore and wife Kerry of McKinney, TX, and great granddaughters Kylie and Katelyn Taylor Lenore and his 2 loving cats of many years, Brother and Sister.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Ernest Taylor and his eldest daughter, Laura Cecile.
Pallbearer's will be Robert and Keith Lenore, Fritz Wisdom, Jesse Ortega, Bob Cross, and James Musser. Bob and James have been wonderful friends of Les' for many years.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, August 29, 6:00 - 7:30 pm at Beaty Funeral Home, in Mineola, TX. Les will be laid to rest in Mineola, Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Cedars Memorial Gardens, Mineola, TX with Dr. Mark Neeley officiating.
