Hansen Evans Scobee
Hansen Evans Scobee passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2012. He was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Leesville to Henry Rice Scobee and Leonora Hansen Scobee. He graduated from Texas A&M University in mechanical engineering. He was in the armed forces and served a tour of
duty in the Pacific. He moved to Baton Rouge in 1948 and was employed by Ethyl Corp. Later, he was the head of a construction company and involved in several businesses. In 1962, he became president of Electrical Wholesalers, Inc.
He married Dotty Voorhies in 1950 and is survived by her and their three children and their families, Hansen Evans Scobee Jr., wife Leah Barron, granddaughter Meghan S. Blackledge and husband Ryan and great-granddaughter, Constance Anne; Renee S. Bellamy, husband
Harry and grandsons, Hansen Franklin and Rogers Franklin; daughter Marie S. Williams, husband Geordie, granddaughters, Claire Williams and Camille Williams. He is also survived by his twin brother, Henry Rice Scobee Jr., of Lake Charles.
He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman and when life forced him to forgo those pursuits, he found much pleasure with good friends at the gin table. The Rev. Don Tabb will perform a memorial service for family and friends. Anyone wishing to make donations
