Class of '61 Mini Reunion

Printable Registration Form

September 21-23, 2018
College Station, TX

HOWDY
Howdy Ags,

The planning for our Mini Reunion has been finalized and registration is now open! On Friday we will have meet and greet reception at the Embassy Suites beginning at 5:30 p.m, and a game watch party on Saturday to watch the Aggies take on Alabama.

It has been challenging to schedule around the Aggie vs. Alabama football game since we don't know when the game will start. With that said, we think we have a pretty fun weekend lined up that many will enjoy!

As it now stands, we will have a welcome reception at the Embassy Suites Hotel on Friday evening with some appetizers to include: canapes, chicken tenders, chicken and beef satay, bacon wrapped scallops, and bruschetta. Best part is all of this for only $20! The reception will be a great way to enjoy each other’s company, and make plans to head out on the town for dinner on our own after!

There will be several thousand family members in town for the delivery of some Aggie Rings on Friday. While this a momentous occasion for our younger Ags, it will make traversing town challenging, with hotels and restaurants more than likely to be crowded. Luckily, it is just a one-day affair.

Saturday will be when Aggies take on Alabama. The time will be announced a week or two prior to the game. We will either have a lunch or a supper buffet, depending on kick-off, at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center where we get to enjoy watching the game while we eat. The price of the meal will be $25, which will cover the meal and our bartenders for the cash bar.

Our block at the Embassy Suites has filled up, but if you are looking for place to stay for the weekend, visit the Bryan-College Station Accommodations website to book a room in a nearby hotel. You may also call the Accommodations Hotline at (979) 260-9898 to check on hotel availability in the area. Either way, call and make your reservation today as many of the hotels fill up fast!

We have heard from several of you that live nearby that you will want to join us for some of the festivities. We want all of you to come out! If you cannot make it to the Friday get-together, come up Saturday for the game. We have reserved the Alumni Center just for our Class. There will be parking at the Alumni Center and if that that fills up, Koldus Parking Garage (University Center Garage) is just down the street.

A bit of Class business; due to George Loveland’s health, we are recommending to the Class that his position be changed to Class Agent Emeritus so that he doesn't have any duties to perform on an ongoing basis. This will allow us to honor him for nearly 50 years of service to our Class. We have discussed this with Marvin Girouard and he concurred.

Join us as we BTHO bama!
