After he served as Director of the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, he joined USAID in 1957.

He also served as Governor of the State of Durango from 1968 to 1974 and founded and educational trust institution, Fundacion Durango in 1982. Paez-Urquidi was awarded the “Medalla Lazaro Cardenas” for contributions to the electrification of Mexico.

As Vice Chairman of the American Water Works Association, he helped set standards for the use of concrete and plastic pipes and fittings for water supply and sanitary and storm drainage.

Pendleton’s four generation Aggie family includes his father William F. ’95, son Fred A. ’60 and grandson Andrew H. Pendleton ’88.

Thomas Goodrich graduated from Texas A&M in 1933 where he was in the “Fightin Texas Aggie Band” and also served as head Yell Leader. Goodrich was commissioned an Army 2LT in 1935. Tommy traveled Wyoming in CCC Camps as a camp commander, and then transferred to the Army Air Corps in 1941. Goodrich served with distinction until his retirement in 1964.

Following the war, he returned home to serve as adjudication officer for the Veterans Administration. He was Class Agent for the Class of ’33 for over 40 years and was named Houston’s Outstanding Aggie in 1993.

During World War II, he was the chief surveyor and engineer for Big Inch Pipeline (war emergency) from Galveston to Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was President of the Upshur County A&M Club twice.
