Charles Swearingen served in the U.S. Air Force as a Radar/Electronics Technician from 1951 to 1855. After he earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering, he was a Communications Systems Design Engineer with the CIA, worked for Collins Radio Company, LTV Electosystems, and then for NASA in the Manned Spacelight Program. Margie and Charles owned and operated Kwik-Kopy Printing Franchises in Garland and Dallas from 1971-1984.
Walter Swank retired as manager of the South Texas Division in 9177 following a 25-year career with Gifford-Hill American, Inc. He was discharged as a major after serving on Saipan and Okinawa during World War II. Swank was awarded the 1964 Engineer of the Year by the Victoria Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
Fort Worth, TX
Jim graduated from Texas A&M in 1974 with a BBA in Accounting. He has been the Chief Financial Officer of several multi-national public and private companies and has also served on the Board of Directors of several public companies. He has held leadership positions in a number of charitable and professional organizations, including Hospice of El Paso, Community Hospice of Texas and Financial Executives International. Even though Debra received her MBA from SMU she is more Aggie than most Aggies!

Bob Surovik graduated from Texas A&M with a B.B.A. degree in accounting and a J.D. degree from the University of Texas Law School. In 1963 he commenced his law practice in Abilene, Texas, where he is now President of McMahon, Surovik, Suttle, Buhrmann, Hicks, Gill & Cannon, P.C. Bob is a former president of the Abilene A&M Club, is a founding member of the Texas A&M Foundation’s Planned Giving Council, and served for six years on the Board of Directors for The Association of Former Students, having been President in 2001.
Big Spring, TX
Stripling served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 and later retired after operating Stripling Supply Company, Inc., a wholesale grocery business, for 29 years. He owns Stripling Land Company, Inc., South Mountain Water Company, Inc., and Land Sales and Investments, Inc. He is an active participant in the Traveling Aggies program and has been a Co-Class Agent for the Class of ’46.
Billings, MT
Since 1986, Webster Stone has been a worldwide geophysical consultant. Previously, he earned a Purple Heart with one star while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. During his 32-year career with Humble Oil/Esso Exploration Inc., he received a patent on a seismic recording technique and directed geophysical operations in the U.S., the Far East, Europe and Africa.
Annapolis, MD
Jim Stolarski graduated from Texas A&M in 1983 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance. Jim started with Accenture in September of 1984 and has more than 26 years experience in management consulting. For much of his career, Jim served the banking industry, leading initiatives ranging from large transformational change initiatives to merger integrations and strategy development. In 2002, Jim joined Accenture’s U.S. federal government business, where he currently leads the federal homeland security, justice and public safety business. Amy (Wolan) Stolarski graduated from Texas A&M in 1983 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. After graduation, Amy went to work for KPMG Peat Marwick in Houston until 1991. Jim and Amy live in Annapolis, MD and have two children, Meagan and Steven.

After graduating in 1955 from Texas A&M with a bachelors in marketing, Dale Stice joined the United Stated Air Force and served for three years. In 1958, Dale went to work in the family grocery business until 1963 when he decided to go to the University of Houston Law School. Upon graduation from law school, Dale held various positions with numerous companies in Midland.
Texas A&M gave me a good foundation on which to build my life on and establish many lifelong friendships. This gift allows me to show my appreciation by returning a small portion of what TAMU did for me. May the old Aggie Spirit continue to burn in our lives – Gig‘Em!
Mortimer Stewart retired from IBM in 1971 after a 39-year career as Manager of Field Engineering for Central and South America and the West Indies. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was active with the Boy Scouts of America. With his wife of 60 years, Mary Kent Stewart, he has traveled extensively throughout the world.
Fort Worth, TX
Rod Stepp served as CEO and President of M&M Manufacturing Company and as a Geophysicist for Pan American Petroleum. He has served his alma mater as a Past President of the Fort Worth A&M Club, Class Agent, Vice President of The Association of Former Students and the 12th Man Foundation Board.
Dallas, TX
Ernest Stephens III calls his experience at Texas A&M the most challenging and enjoyable educational experience of his life. He graduated in 1979 with a degree in industrial distribution. Being an Aggie gave Stephens a greater appreciation for respect, integrity, and guidance. He says that his class benefitted from former students who have given back to A&M and he wanted to do the same.
The Woodlands, TX
Ben Stallings holds a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering and has been an Area Sales Engineer for Production Operators, Inc. since 1995. He was previously a technical advisor with Halliburton Co. in Oklahoma City.
Jan Pierce Stallings earned a BBA degree from Texas A&M and a MBA from the University of Oklahoma. She became a Business Process Consultant with Exxon Chemical in 1996 after having been an account systems engineer with IBM in Fort Worth, Dallas, and Oklahoma City.
After receiving his D.V.M. in 1943, E.P. Stallings practiced veterinary medicine in Houston until 1973. A successful rancher, he breeds registered Texas longhorn cattle. Stallings serves his alma mater on the Development Council for the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and by endowing a Presidential Endowed Scholarship and a veterinary medicine scholarship.

James Staehs served as the President and Owner of Jasta, Inc., a producer of industrial electromechanical linear actuators, antenna drive pedestals and custom items. He formed Jasta in 1974 after working as general manager and owner of Engineering Corporation of America.
College Station, TX
Ron Spies earned a BBA in accounting from Texas A&M in 1973 and has been a licensed CPA since 1976. After a long affiliation with the organization through his audit practice, he joined The Association of Former Students’ staff in 1987 as controller. Today, as vice president and CFO, he is responsible for the fiscal well-being of the organization. He led the 2008 building enhancement project for the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center. In 2006 Ron was honored as a Fish Camp namesake in recognition of his service to Texas A&M. Ron and his wife, Debbie ’76, reside in College Station and are parents to Jeremy, Tim and Nick, and have two granddaughters, Ainsley and Lucy.
Denison, TX
Grateful for his experience at Texas A&M, Dr. Edward Spencer has always admired how Aggies continuously care for one another.
While a student at Texas A&M, he served as a Ross Volunteer and a member of MSC SCONA and the Texas A&M Pre-Med Society. Dr. Spencer said he cherishes his days as a freshman in a Corps Army outfit while “living on the top floor of the cracked battleship dorm with two floors of Air Force outfits below him.”
He went on to serve in the Vietnam War shortly after finishing medical school at UT Southwestern, then eventually opened his own private dermatology practice and later served as the president of the Texas Dermatology Society.
Dr. Spencer welcomed his wife Carolyn into the Aggie family, and they would share the Aggie Spirit with their three sons, Brent ‘00, Todd ‘93 and Scott ’91, are of whom all are now practicing physicians in Texas.
Dr. Spencer said being an Aggie has had a positive impact on his life by reinforcing the values that were taught to him as a child while bringing him lifelong friendships.

After a 39-year career with Exxon Company USA, Glen Specht retired in 1944. He was assigned to the Property Management Group as a geological scientist, served on the committees for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and was a visiting petroleum geologist in the West Texas Geological Society of Petroleum Engineers.
