He earned a law degree from the University of Texas in 1967.

He served in the U.S. Army 1967-69 to the rank of captain, primarily in intelligence in Vietnam. For 30 years, he served as CEO of Rupley Holdings, purchasing its predecessor out of bankruptcy and building it into four separate businesses.

He served for seven years on the board of trustees of the Texas A&M Foundation and was chairman. He has also served on the President’s Board of Visitors and for more than 20 years on the Liberal Arts Development Council. He is a class co-representative for the Ross Volunteers Association and a class representative for Company F-2. His family includes wife Mary, a son and a daughter, as well as his late father, R.P. Gregory ’32, and uncles A.J. Gray ’45 and Delbert W. Gray ’49.

Gregory says his time at A&M shaped his life, and he graduated with not only a degree, but also skills he would use and standards he would live by for the rest of his life. He also believes one of the best ways to improve the world is to invest in future generations of Aggies.

Because of his appreciation for the lessons learned at A&M and a calling to support future students, he and his wife, Mary, made the decision to become Endowed Century Club members. They have also created an endowed chair in liberal arts and a graduate student fellowship and has supported The Gardens at Texas A&M project, the MSC renovation and the Texas A&M Foundation building fund, among other gifts.

Leon Greenblum attended Texas A&M from 1941 to 1944. He then joined the United States Navy for two years prior to returning to Texas A&M to complete his bachelor's of science degree in Chemical Engineering. Leon then began his career as a Chemical Engineer and Sales Representative for Guggenheim Global Infrastructure Company, Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico. He then moved back to the United States to work as an Engineer for National Chemical Company in Dallas before owning his own company for 46 years, Mueblerias Mexico, SA, Nuevo Laredo in Tamaulipas, Mexico. Leon and Sue have three children, Richard Greenblum '77, Peter Greenblum '79, Nancy Greenblum Travis, as well as their grandchildren Russell Braun '12, and Courtney Greenblum '15.

When I arrived in College Station, I had recently moved to the United States from Mexico and spoke very little English. As an A&M student, I grew more confident over time and despite failing my first English class, learned my newly adopted language. In 1944 most of my classmates volunteered to serve in the military in support of World War II and I joined them. After completing two years in the submarine service in the Pacific I was released and offered American citizenship - and I proudly accepted. I returned to A&M to complete my classes and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. During my time at A&M I made the friends I would have and enjoy for the rest of my life. To this day it gives me great pride when a fellow Aggie recognizes my ring, which has happened in many places around the globe.

Plano, TX

Mike Glynn ’75 came to Texas A&M in the fall of 1971 at the urging of two of his cousins, Jim ’68 and Tom ’71 Glynn. Older by a few years, they would come home on breaks and entertain him with stories of the Corps of Cadets, tradition and Aggie Spirit. “They were a big influence on me,” Glynn said.

So, when he arrived in Aggieland, he had expectations of what was to come—but, his expectations didn’t come close to the whole impact that would come from being an Aggie.

At Texas A&M, Glynn said, he gained bold servant leadership experience in the Corps, enjoyed the uniting Spirit of Aggieland through traditions, and daily worked out the core values of the university. “In one way or another, each day, I call upon those skills in my everyday life,” he said.

“I wanted to stay in touch and give back to A&M for everything the school gave me,” he said, so, about five years after he graduated, he joined the Century Club. “I just gave the minimum,” he said. Five years later, he decided to increase his donation. Five years later he upped it again. The pattern was established unconsciously at first, “but at some point it dawned on me,” he said. He has increased his donation and donor level every five years all the way to the Endowed Century Club level.

“I’m blessed to be able to give back,” he said. “The thing about it is, when I write a check to A&M, I don’t even think about it. I freely do it. It’s a treat and a joy.”

A&M is the home to many of his most treasured memories. He remembers his first Muster. Held in G. Rollie, he can still hear the sharp tapping of the Ross Volunteers’ shoes. He holds tight to the memories of Corps activities and how it felt to wear his uniform. His son Michael ’97 and stepson Ryan ’01 both graduated from Texas A&M. Gynn even asked his wife, Dona, to marry him at the 2002 football game against Oklahoma by arranging for a plane to fly over Kyle Field fitted with a banner that proposed marriage.

Having the same seats for years next to Doug Otten ’65, Otten snuck confetti into the pockets of all of his seat neighbors.

She said ‘yes.’ The confetti flew.

Life connected to Texas A&M has been sweet. “It is truly special to be able to give back to the school I love,” he said.
