Glenn D. Hart ’78 is President of Houston-based Laredo Energy. He served as President and CEO of Michael Petroleum Corporation for 19 years until the sale of the company in 2001. He is also the founder and Chairman of Arena Ventures and founder of Houston’s current professional hockey team, the Aeros. Glenn graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and was a member of the Corps of Cadets. He is currently serving on the Executive Committee of Texas A&M University’s Twelfth Man Foundation and the Chancellor’s Century Council.
Texas A&M has been part of my life since I was born. My dad is Class of ’50 and he and my mom instilled a love for A&M that continues to grow now that my two oldest children are current A&M students. I want others to have the blessing of the lifetime of joy being an Aggie can bring.
This endowment is given by Iola and William M. Hart in memory of their parents: Mr. & Mrs. Joe M. Hart and Mr. & Mrs. W.M. Thompson and an aunt, Mrs. Grace Hill. As commander of the U.S. Army Cargo Ship F.S. 192, he served in the 8th Naval District and in various war zones during World War II.
Harrison received a bachelor’s degree in Zoology in 1948 and a Doctorate of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine. He entered private practice in Bryan in 1956 and fulfilled visiting professorships at the medical schools of the University of Cairo and the University of Kentucky and has authored 95 publications and papers. He was a Clinical Professor of Surgery for Texas A&M’s College of Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His strong support of Texas A&M includes many scholarship endowments including a President’s Endowed Scholarship and a Sul Ross Scholarship for A&M’s Corp of Cadets.

R. Scott Harris ’61 graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He retired from Square D. Company in 2001 after working there for 38 years.
I was very fortunate to be able to attend A&M. The school is well respected throughout the world. It’s important to contribute to an organization that does good things for students and alumni.

Michael Harn serves as Vice President of Sales and Service with SBC/Ameritech Consumer Services. He graduated from Texas A&M with a BBA in Marketing and then earned his MBA from Incarnate Word University in San Antonio. At Texas A&M, he was Commander of the 2nd Battalion in the Corps of Cadets, a Ross Volunteer and Fish Camp Counselor.
Lori Harn (Gardner) graduated from Texas A&M with a BBA in Marketing and began the began the Executive Master’s Program in September 2000 at Northwestern University. She has worked for Kraft Foods throughout her career and is a National Sales Manager. At Texas A&M, Lori was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and an Aggie Hostess.

Ray Harmer served in the Navy prior to attending Texas A&M in 1948. After graduating in Geological Engineering, he had various assignments with service and oil companies in the Rocky Mountain and Midwest areas. He worked for 27 years for Mobil in Louisiana and Norway in reservoir engineering and economic evaluation.

Michael, a native of the Commonwealth of Virginia earned a BS in Political Science from Georgia Southern University in 2004 and his Masters of Public Service and Administration from the Bush School at Texas A&M in 2013.
Michael joined The Association of Former Students staff in 2012 originally as a student assistant, and upon graduating in 2013, joined The Association in a full time capacity. Originally, he oversaw The Association’s Internal Audit function, before accepting roles in both Advocacy and Fundraising.
In 2018, Michael was named the Assistant Vice President for Government Relations at Texas A&M University where he represents Texas A&M University interests to the federal and state government, higher education associations that engage with government officials and agencies, university support organizations, and higher education advocacy groups. Michael also works with The Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) Government Relations offices in Washington D.C. and Austin to maintain relationships with elected officials and their staffs, and strengthen ties and develop relationships between the campus community and research sponsors.
Prior to moving to Texas, Michael worked in the Virginia legislature for six years, including the final three as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Lieutenant Governor, in which he was responsible for advancing the Lieutenant Governor’s legislative agenda through the Virginia General Assembly. In 2004, he worked in Florida on the successful re-election campaign of President George W. Bush.
Michael currently lives in College Station with his daughter Grayson ’35 and their dog Lexi. You will often see Michael and Grayson attending Texas A&M women’s basketball games, baseball games, and softball games! They are also on a journey to visit all 50 states together, (plus Washington, D.C.). As of 2021, have been to 20!
Edward Hardin rose to Vice President for manufacturing and Technology in a 40-year career with Mobil Oil Corporation. He served as director for Mobile Pipeline Company, the Mobil Foundation, and the National Petroleum Refiners Association. Hardin served Texas A&M as part of the Curriculum Advisory Committee for Texas A&M’s Chemistry Department.

Henry Andrew Hansen II has been in private practice of cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery since 1981. He has also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Texas Tech University School of Medicine and has authored several professional articles. Hansen served as the Vice President for West Texas and the President of The Association of Former Students.
Wichita, KS
Bill Hanna was named President of Koch Industries, Inc. in 1987. He started his career with Sunray DX in Tulsa, Oklahoma and then joined Koch industries in 1968. He was appointed to Executive Vice President Energy Group in 1981 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 1984. Hanna also served on the Texas A&M College of Engineering External Advisory and Development Council and the Nucleus Fund Committee for the Texas A&M University Campaign.

Bob Handley ’67 is the President for Tarlton Supply Co. Inc. in Brenham, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1968 with a degree in Industrial Distribution. Upon graduation, Bob joined the United States Marine Corps as a Helicopter Pilot. In 1972, he was employed with Briggs Weaver as a salesman and then later became a Texas Marine. Bob volunteers his time as a member of the Masons Club, Lions Club, Rotary Club, the Goodfellows and the VFW.

John Hancock spent 32 years with GTE Southwest before retiring as Business Relations Director in 1987. He has held engineering and management positions with the GTE Service Corporation as well as operating companies in Florida, the Northwest and the Southwest. Hancock has served his alma mater as a Past President of the West Texas A&M Club.
Houston, TX
Edward M. Hale graduated from Texas A&M in 1943 with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. He served in the United States Army during World War II and in the Reserves for 34 years, which included eight Army schools. Edward began his professional career with Humble Oil in 1946 and retired in 1986 after 40 years with Exxon Companies. He was active in Boy Scouts of America for 30 years and in amateur radio for 50 years.
Several of my family members are Aggies; we have 9 Aggie Rings in the family! I’m trying to set an example. First wife started an education fund and I am continuing the tradition.

Deborah Hajovsky graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science in zoology. She received the Outstanding Junior Award in the College of Science in 1986. Hajovsky then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where she also practiced her residency in OB/GYN. She has been a physician at the West Texas Medical Associates in San Angelo since 1997.

Hagler received a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics in 1958 and earned a master’s of Business Administration from Harvard University in 1963. As a student, he served as a Ross Volunteer and was Corps of Cadets commander his senior year. Hagler has managed mutual funds for numerous investment firms but mostly recently for Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co., LLC of which he is a Partner. He currently serves on The Association of Former Students Board of Directors.

Brian earned his Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Leadership and Development from Texas A&M University and is currently the Assistant Superintendent for Perry Homes. Brian has always wanted to prioritize giving back to A&M, and through his Endowed Century Club fund he will be able to support the people and University that have given him so much.
Texas A&M is far more than just an education, it instills within every student a moral code to live by.

After a successful 26 year career in the U.S. Air Force, Harvey Haas is a retired Colonel who earned the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star. His assignments included Texas A&M ROTC detachment, Germany, Guam, and Vietnam. He served as Vice President for property management at Hibernia National Bank in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and taught mathematics in Comal Independent School District. Haas was a Co-Class Agent and established a Sul Ross Scholarship at Texas A&M.
Phoenix, AZ
After earning her B.B.A. from Texas A&M University, Gulig began a 19-year career with Atlantic Richfield Company. She worked as a financial manager in three divisions and at the corporate headquarters. She earned her M.B.A. from UCLA and is a Certified National Auditor and Certified Public Accountant. She also serves the Texas A&M Foundation as the Director of Development for the College of Education.

Oliver was born in Jeanerette, La. and Mary Jane was born in New Iberia, La. in 1913. They were the children and young adults of the deprecation era and neither were able to attend a college. After Oliver's mother died in 1924, he was forced to leave school in the 6th grade to find work. Times were hard but like many others of his time Oliver would not let this stop him. Oliver and Mary Jane married in 1938. Oliver read, studied and taught himself mathmatics and obtained a diesel engineering license. Oliver served as a third assistant engineer of steam vessels aboard several merchant marine ships during World War II in the Pacific theater. In 1946, Oliver and Mary Jane settled in Houston, Texas. Oliver spent his life working as a sheet metal mechanic and in construction. They both possessed a great desire to have their children obtain a college education. Both worked to instill this desire in their children and two of their three boys did attend college. They gave their oldest son the opportunity to attend Texas A&M. Oliver and Mary fell in love with A&M and its traditions. Mary Jane was a staunch supporter of the A&M football team. She would never miss listerning to or watching the Aggies play. She would say the Aggies never lose they just get outscored. It is through the efforts and dreams of thousands of parents like Oliver and Mary Jane that Texas A&M University is able to build and maintain its own greatness. To honor and preserve his parents memory their son Oliver James Guiberteau '63 has established a membership in the Endowed Century Club in their names.

Douglas L. Groves is the President and Owner of Capitol City Insurance in Austin, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1982 with a degree in Finance.
I admire the quality of graduates that Texas A&M producing today. The self confidence that Texas A&M produces in young people is unique. Graduates have a determination and willingness to get the job done.
