Helen Pugh attended T.C.U. before graduating from East Texas State University. She established the Most Valuable Player and Spirit Awards for A&M baseball team in honor of her late husband, A&M Hall of Famer Marion C. Pugh ’41. She is a life member of the Texas A&M Letterman’s Association.
James Pridmore operated a private practice as an engineering consultant following a 34-year career as Project and Materials Manager for Humble Oil/Exxon Corporation. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army Ordinance Corps during World War II. He was State Director of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers and a Life Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Upon completion of Bachelor of Science degrees in both Chemistry and Biology at Lamar University, Penny Prater received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1980. She then received a Master of Business Administration and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1986 from Texas Tech University, In 1991 she received a Master of Laws from George Washington University School of Law. Penny has practiced as a patent examiner, attorney and counsel since 1988 and is currently a senior counsel for Chevron Corporation in San Ramon, California. Penny serves on the advisory board of the College of Arts and Sciences at Lamar University and participates in Chevron sponsored activities at Texas A&M.

Richard Powell became the President of Phoenix Manufacturing Inc. in 1984 after 6 years as President of Duo-Sales Inc. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
Susan completed a double degree in History and English at Texas A&M. She designed and coordinated production of quilts used to raise funds for the Singing Cadets and the Sterling Evans Library. She is a Past President of the Plano A&M Mother’s Club and served on the Executive Board of the Federation of Texas A&M Mothers’ Clubs.
Lester T. Potter received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1928. After graduation, Potter joined Lone Star Gas Co., advancing to President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board. He has served as Director and President of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce. He served his alma mater on The Association of Former Students Board from 1988-1990 and was President of the Sul Ross Group.

Matt Poling received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University in 1991. During his time at A&M, Matt was the commander of the Corps of Cadets and was awarded the Brown-Earl Rudder Outstanding Graduate Award for the 1990-91 graduating class. Upon graduation, Matt attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he was class president from 1991 to 1992. He then completed the Waco Family Practice Residency Program, where he was chief resident from 1997 to 1998. Matt is a family practice physician at the Scott and White Clinic in College Station, as well as an assistant professor at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.Matt was a physician in the U.S. Air Force from 1998 to 2003, with assignments to Colorado Springs and San Antonio as well as a deployment to Saudi Arabia. From 2009 to 2010, Matt and his family lived in Heidelberg, Germany, where Matt was a civilian family practice physician for the U.S. Army.Matt and his wife, Ashli Poling, met while working at a Kanakuk Camp in the Ozarks during the summer of 1991 and were married in 1995. Ashli, from Arkansas, graduated from Baylor in 1993. Upon graduation, Ashli became a high school math teacher. Ashli now stays at home with their three children, Meredith, Duncan and Elise.Matt is on the Board of Directors for the Corps of Cadets Association. He and his family are members of Grace Bible Church in College Station.
As a former Class Agent, I know the vital role The Association of Former Students plays in maintaining the Aggie Network. I decided to make an endowed gift more than 20 years ago, but that is something easily put off. While working overseas in 2009, our dog escaped during a thunderstorm and wandered over to The Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Building. They brought that wet stinky dog inside and helped him fi nd his way home. That clinched it.

David Pitts graduated from Texas A&M in 1981 with a degree in petroleum engineering. His wife, Jeanne, also went to A&M and studied industrial engineering.
The sense of pride and fellowship of being an Aggie are part of their appreciation for all that A&M did to prepare them for their careers.
At home, Pitts led worship in his church for eight years and has coached youth sports in football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and golf. In his professional life, Pitts has been vice president at Pitts Energy Co. in Midland, Texas since 1984. Their three children are all Aggies: Jennifer Kaspar ’11, Nicholas Pitts ’15, and Sara Pitts ’17.

Pitcock graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He was co-founder, partner, president and CEO of Williams Brothers Construction, a company he built from a startup to one of the nation’s largest highway construction firms. In 1976 Pitcock was appointed by President Gerald R. Ford to the National Transportation Policy Study Commission, and served as national president of Associated General Contractors of America in 1984. He has been honored as a Distinguished Graduate of Texas A&M’s Department of Civil Engineering and as an Outstanding Alumnus of the Dwight Look College of Engineering.

Tom Philips graduated from Texas A&M University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering. Tom has been a systems engineer for Johnson Controls and Lone Star Gas. He is currently the managing sales director of Markit WSO.
Fran Phillips graduated from Texas A&M University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural ecconomics. After graduation, Fran worked in group travel sales, predominately with church and Young Life groups on ski and mission trips. Her current focus is volunteer work in the church and community and raising kids.
Fran and Tom reside in Dallas and have two daughters, Sarah and Mary Lea.
We chose to make this gift to The Association simply because we are at a place in life where we are able to give back. Texas A&M helped mold us into the people we are, and it is important to us to help preserve the future of our University for generations to come.
After a 35-year career, Robert Phillips retired from Shell Company in 1984 as an engineer serving in various locations in the United States. He served in World War II with the U.S. Army as Captain and received the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Phillips was president of his sophomore class at Texas A&M and has served as president of the San Angelo and Denver A&M Clubs.

Frederick Philips graduated with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career with Humble Oil, which became ExxonMobil. He specialized in chemical plant design in polypropylene production facilities and retired after 36 years. He is a Baytown City Councilman and active in the Episcopal Church.
New Braunfels, TX
Robert Pfeuffer graduated from Texas A&M in 1959 and has been a Gold Century Club member since 2001. Being an Aggie has given him “a sense of belonging to the world’s greatest university alumni association.” Pfeuffer is a senior district judge and is a founding member and the first president of Hill Country Orchid Society of New Braunfels.
The Pfeuffer family has had a long relationship with Texas A&M. This relationship dates back to Robert Pfeuffer’s great-grandfather, Senator George Pfeuffer, for whom Pfeuffer Hall was named. He was appointed to Texas A&M’s Board of Directors in 1879 and Board Chairman in 1885. Robert Pfeuffer’s grandfather, U.S. Pfeuffer, graduated from Texas A&M in 1891 and his father, Tug S. Pfeuffer, in 1930. Pfeuffer’s children are Michael ’86 and David ’87 and his grandchildren are Erika ’18 and Katie ’19.
John Persohn served as Chairman and CEO of Persohn/Hahn Associates, Inc., a consulting engineering and elevator firm he founded in 1981. After serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II and the Korean War, he worked for Otis Elevator Company for 34 years.

This Endowed Diamond Century Club Membership, created by Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Pendleton, celebrates four generations at Texas A&M and recognizes the school’s significant and positive influence on the family throughout the years. Fred’s grandfather, W.F. Pendleton 1893, was the first at A&M, along with five of his brothers. He was followed by Alfred M. Pendleton ’31 and Hugh H. Pendleton ’28, Fred’s father and uncle, respectively. Fred and Patricia’s son, Andrew ’88, is the fourth generation Pendleton, marking a century of family presence at Aggieland.
A.M. Pendleton served as Head of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Cotton Harvesting and Ginning Program before retirement. He has been honored by Texas A&M, Texas Tech and the National Cotton Ginners Association for his contributions to the ginning industry. Pendleton’s four generation Aggie family includes his father William F. ’95, son Fred A. ’60 and grandson Andrew H. Pendleton ’88.

J.C. graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s of science degree in Agricultural Economics and a Business Minor. J.C. began working for JNB Machine Shop in Houston while he was attending college and moved up to currently being Vice President since 2008. J.C. has continued his involvement through being involved with the Ag-Economics Society, and the Finance, Insurance and Real Estate Club. J.C. displays Texas A&M University’s core values through his degree of excellence but also the selflessness to give back to the University that has provided him with many opportunities.
