William Dean Johnson

August 28, 1945 - September 21, 2022

Dr. William "Dean" Johnson DVM, PhD, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on September 21, 2022 at the age of 77.  

Dean, A&M Class of '70, received four degrees at Texas A&M University, including one bachelor's, one master's, and two doctoral degrees.  

He was predeceased by his parents, William Robert and Julia Mae Horne Johnson.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca "Kaye" Smith Johnson; his children, Julia Sherrill Kelly (Shannon), Jennifer Leigh Curtis (Mark), William "James" Johnson and Joshua Dean Johnson (Kristen); his sister Ileene Huffard (Evertt); his grandchildren, Suzannah Brown (Ryan), Christopher Kelly (Amanda), Kathryn Estes, Lillian Kelly, Kenneth Kelly, Kaleigh Curtis, Madeline Curtis, Duke Curtis, Cole Curtis, Jackson Johnson, Beau Johnson, Silas Johnson, Remington Johnson, Emmy Lou Johnson, Hattie Johnson, Magnolia Johnson, Hudson Johnson, Ryder Johnson, Joshua "Caleb" Johnson, Kaitlyn Johnson and Sara Rodrigues; and his great grandchildren, Lane Brown and Samuel Freeman.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Southeastern Church of Christ, 6500 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis with calling from 10:00 AM. www.oakleyhammond.com
