Stephanie Wenzler Scroggins was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 12, 1962, to Henry (Hank) and Dorothy Wenzler. She passed from this life to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

Stephanie and her family moved to Houston, Texas in 1968 where she had a happy and ideal childhood. She attended public schools through junior high and then Saint Agnes Academy, graduating in 1980. While at Saint Agnes she was a member of the tennis team, Spanish and National Honor Societies and served as an intern for State Representative Bill Archer her junior year. Stephanie was a Capital Scholar her senior year. Most importantly Stephanie built many life-long friendships with her Saint Agnes sisters who filled her with joy, love and support over the years.

With desires of a career in politics, Stephanie attended Texas A&M University initially as a Political Science major but found her aptitude in accounting, graduating Cum Laude in 1984 then joining Arthur Young in their San Antonio, Texas office practicing public accounting. Wanting to expand her industry experience, she transferred to Arthur Young’s Dallas office in 1986. There she met her future husband of 33 years Boyd Scroggins who she married on December 17, 1988, at the Co-Cathedral of Sacred Heart in Houston, Texas and settled in their first of three homes in Flower Mound, Texas.

Deciding to leave public accounting, Stephanie joined Club Corporation of America where she worked as an auditor, controller and club manager trainee until deciding to focus full time on motherhood for her son Zach who was born in February 1996 and daughter Alex born September 1999. Stephanie rejoined the workforce in 2006 with Eagle Golf, which became Arcis Golf, in varying positions until her final role as Director of Capital Management. Concurrently in June 2012 she founded the Cottonwood Chapter of National Charity League (NCL), a group of mothers and daughters who come together in commitment to community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences.

Stephanie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer October 31, 2019, and ferociously battled the disease for 28 months. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Jack and Edna Wenzler, Frank and Anne Dessert.

She is survived by her husband Boyd Scroggins of Flower Mound, TX, son Zach Scroggins of Corinth, TX, daughter Alex Scroggins of College Station, TX, parents Hank and Dorothy Wenzler of Katy, TX, brother Robbie Wenzler of Katy, TX, sister Edna and her husband Steve Hardin of Houston, TX, father and mother-in-laws Dale and Sharon Scroggins of Prague, OK and Paul and Dorothy Anderson of Flower Mound, TX, brother-in-law Darren Scroggins and his wife Janet of Oklahoma City, OK, sisters-in-laws Renee and her husband Louie Parez of McLoud, OK and Yolonda Scroggins of Orlando, FL, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
