March 15, 1954 – March 2, 2023

Jeffrey David Haynie of Double Oak, TX, 68, died March 2, 2023 in Fort Worth. He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Haynie; sister Tracy Haynie Jones and her husband Jimmy Jones of Panama City Beach, FL; brother K. Bruce Haynie and his wife Shawna Haynie of Shallowater, TX; nephews Wesley Jones, Aaron Jones (wife Kathleen Jones), Matthew Haynie, Will Matthews, James Matthews, Andy Benke, and Tommy Benke; nieces Elleigh Haynie, Sarah Benton (husband Brandon Benton) and Abi Benke; Great-nephews Sawyer Jones, Major Benton, Eli Benton, Sam Benton; Great-nieces Hadleigh Benton and Blaire Benton. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Virginia Haynie.

Jeff was born on March 15, 1954 in Lufkin, TX, to Kenneth M. and Virginia Gates Haynie. His family moved to Dallas in 1968. Jeff graduated from W.T. White High School in Dallas and was a member of the JROTC.

Jeff went to Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Parks & Recreation. Jeff was the first person in his father’s family to get a degree from a university. His father was very proud of him. Jeff began his professional career with Binks Manufacturing primarily as a salesman for 25 years. He continued his career at Floors Inc. selling blinds and flooring. He later worked and managed various groups at Neiman Marcus in their online sales department. He worked there for several years until he retired.

Jeff was a wonderful husband, brother, uncle and friend. He was well loved by not only his family and friends but his workplace and co-workers as well.

Jeff married the love of his life, Rebecca (Becky) Matthews in 1994. They met through their strong group of friends and those friendships have continued over the years. Jeff had many interests. Jeff and Becky loved to travel and took many trips to Alaska, the American West, and Europe. Their family and friendships were important to them, and they enjoyed spending time with those who came to visit. In his younger days, Jeff loved to go hiking in Colorado and Canada with friends. He loved being in the mountains. Jeff was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys even though he would get frustrated with them. He will always be a Dallas Cowboys fan and will continue to root for them from the heavens above. Jeff also enjoyed working with his brother Bruce on computers and PiAware ADS-B receivers to track aircraft. He enjoyed researching the genealogy of the Haynie and Gates families and was an avid reader.

The funeral service will be held at Historic Frankford Church, 17400 Muirfield, Dallas, Texas, Saturday March 18 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Frankford Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service.
