Edwin Phillip Chamberlin

January 7, 1941 – February 2, 2023

Edwin Phillip Chamberlin, age 82, of White Rock, NM, passed away on February 2, 2023, after a brief illness.

Phil was born on January 7, 1941, to Edwin and Gertrude Chamberlin in Glasgow, KY. After graduating from Ball High School in Galveston, TX, Phil went on to receive his PhD in Nuclear Physics at Texas A&M University.

In 1958, Phil met Mary Jo Watts and they wed in 1960, going on to have two sons, Edwin Phillip, Jr. and John William.

Phil joined Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1975, retiring in 1998 after considerable contributions to the Nuclear Deterrence capability of the nation.

Phil spent his retirement pursuing his passions in stock market investing, gardening, genealogy and tinkering in the garage.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo, his sons, Phillip and John, his grandsons Joey, Tyler, Conner, and granddaughter Lilly.

Services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11 am at White Rock Baptist Church. A lunch will be served following the service.
