Anne Marie Fiedler
September 29, 1964 – September 25, 2021

On September 25th, 2021, Anne Marie Fiedler of Leander, Texas left us just a few days before her 57th birthday.

Anne was a 1987 graduate of Texas A&M University and moved to Houston to start her career at Koch Industries, then worked for Unocal and finally Chevron Pipe Line. She retired from Chevron in March 2012 and moved to Leander, Texas.

Anne was an avid cyclist. She started by gathering a group of co-workers to ride the Houston to Austin MS 150 (yep, that’s 150 miles), which she ended up riding multiple times. She also rode the Hotter ‘n Hell 100 in Wichita Falls twice. Anne logged several thousand miles of training rides in and around the Houston area. Anne became a strong supporter of the Livestrong foundation and completed 15 Austin LIVESTRONG Challenges. In her retirement, Anne continued to volunteer her time to Livestrong as well as many other charitable activities including numerous 5 and 10K runs.

Retirement also allowed Anne time to enjoy her love of travel in the US as well as abroad. She enjoyed skiing in Park City and Jackson Hole, hiking in Colorado and Arizona, and camping with family in Big Bend. Anne took frequent day hikes in parks and trails around the Austin area with her beloved dogs Bo and Matilda. Anne journeyed to many far flung corners of the world including the Cayman Islands, Europe, Mexico, Hong Kong, India, Tanzania and Australia. In 2016, Anne achieved a life-long goal combining her love of the outdoors and travel with a journey to the roof of Africa, summiting Kilimanjaro. She loved being outdoors and Sedona, Arizona was her favorite travel destination.

Anne was preceded in death by her sister Cecelia, and is survived by her sisters Paula, Cynthia, and Martha and her brothers Herbert, Harold, and Fred. She is also survived by her nieces Katrina Prout and Lydia Chan.

A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on November 21st at Weed, Corley and Fish Funeral Home at 411 Ranch Rd 620 S, Lakeway Texas. In lieu of flowers her family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or MD Anderson Cancer Center.
