Lloyd B. Sells
July 9, 1935 - October 21, 2022

Lloyd Benjamin Sells, 87, of Adkins, Texas passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on October 21, 2022. Lloyd was born on July 9, 1935, in Stockdale, Texas to Ben F. Sells and Irene (Kaspryk) Sells. Lloyd married Lois Marie LaChepelle on June 21, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas.

After graduating from Burbank High School, Lloyd attended Texas A&M University and received his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1960. He served in the United States Army for 2 years.

In 1964, Lloyd and Lois bought property in Adkins, Texas and opened his own practice in 1965. Lloyd had a passion for animals, agriculture, and nature. After 60 years in practice, Lloyd retired, and focused his attention on raising cattle, and spending valuable time with his family doing the things he loved best. Hunting was a particular passion of his that he shared with his children and grandchildren alike. He ensured that this passion would continue, when one of his lifelong dreams came true through the purchase of a piece of property for their family to enjoy the outdoors in Whitsett, Texas.

Lloyd was active in the Knights of Columbus for over 65 years and had the honor of serving as Grand Knight for several years. In 2007 he became a member of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and was also a member of Alhambra. Lloyd also served as a La Vernia ISD school board member, Cub Scout Leader, and Lions Club member. He also enjoyed supporting local charities and junior livestock show premium sales.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Irene Sells, sister Patricia Roath and brother-in-law Robert Roath.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Lois Sells; his daughter Roni Bond (Tyler), son Kevin Sells (Karen), daughter Nancy Pawelek (Paul); grandchildren, Harmony Doege (Terry), Kyle Sells (Shelby), Tara Versaggi (Salvatore), Matt Hosek, Tyler Nordstrom, Katy Germann (David), and Kourtney Sells. Great-grandchildren, Morgan Doege, Renee Doege, Haegen Sells, Cora Germann, Rainor Germann, and Vito Versaggi. Brothers, James Sells (Adele) and Ervin Sells (Peggy); numerous nieces, nephews, and many other loving family members and friends.

A Rosary will be held at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Annunciation of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig, Texas, Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.

Pallbearers for Lloyd are Kyle Sells, Matt Hosek, Tyler Nordstrom, Terry Doege, Salvatore Versaggi, David Germann, Darrell Smith, and Ben Roath. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. James Kosub, Dr. Steve Sells, Dr. Stephen Bowman, and Dr. Joseph Miga.
