C. Lynn Braswell
June 8, 1940 - January 2, 2023

C. Lynn Braswell joined his Heavenly Father in his eternal home on Monday, January 2, 2023 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was 82 years old. He was born to parents, Col. Clarence David Braswell and Dorothy Blattner Braswell on June 8, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He was a graduate of Angleton High School. In 1962, Lynn earned his Bachelor’s in Mathematics from Texas A&M University and in 1964, he earned his Master’s in computer science from Texas A&M University. He married his loving wife, Linda Cooper on June 22, 1974 in Houston, Texas. Lynn was employed with IBM for 27 years and also taught computer science at Blinn Community College for 10 years before his retirement. He and his wife, Linda, have made their home in the community of Franklin for the past 30 years.

Lynn was active in the community serving on several boards and organizations. He served on the Board of Directors of the Robertson County Food Pantry for 20 years, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Robertson County A&M Club and was also a member of the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Col. Clarence David and Dorothy Braswell; brother, Hal Braswell and niece, Lindsey Wilson del Busto. He was also preceded in death by numerous other relatives.

Lynn is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Braswell of Franklin; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Julie Braswell of Fort Collins, Co. and Dan and Debbie Braswell of China Spring, Tx.; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Mike Wilson of Seabrook; brothers and sisters-in-law, David Byron and Sharon Braswell and Peter Kyle and Diane Braswell. Lynn is also survived to cherish his memory by his 3 grandchildren: John-Micah Braswell, Carter Braswell and Nathaniel Braswell. Lynn is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5-7 P.M. with a rosary recited at 7 P.M. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Franklin. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Franklin.

The family has requested, if possible, in honor of Lynn, that maroon be worn.

The family of Lynn Braswell wishes to thank Hospice Brazos Valley for the excellent care given to Lynn during his illness.
