Frank B. Seale, Jr.

August 20, 1937 ~ September 24, 2022

Frank Bradford Seale, Jr. was born on August 20, 1937 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan, Texas to Frank and Veatrice Seale. He passed away on September 24, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital with his family by his side.

Frank attended Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan and Allen Academy Junior College on a basketball and baseball scholarship. In 1958 he was named Junior College Athlete of the Year.

He attended Texas A&M University, where he was a Distinguished Student in 1960 and 1961. Frank graduated from Texas A&M in January 1961 and later received his Masters Degree in Education from Sam Houston State University.

In June 1961, Frank married Ann Elliott. They were blessed with 61 years together, and had one son, Sam, in 1966.

Frank began his teaching and coaching career at the Allen Military Academy in Bryan in 1961. He later taught and coached at University Junior High in Austin, Texas, for four years and served as assistant principal in 1965. In the fall of 1965, Frank moved to Stephen F. Austin High School in Austin as head baseball coach and assistant football coach. He stayed at Austin High for nine years and always recalled those times with fond memories.

In 1974, Frank became principal of J.R. Irvin Middle School in Midlothian, Texas. During his tenure, he helped open the new Midlothian Middle School building, which is now named in his honor. During his 19 years as principal, M.M.S. was awarded the State Board of Education Exceptional Achievement Award five times, the Governor’s certificate for Outstanding Performance twice and in 1991 M.M.S. was awarded the Governor’s Award for Exemplary Performance. In 2012, Frank was inducted into the Bryan I.S.D. Hall of Honor.

Frank was an active member of multiple civic organizations, a member of First United Methodist Church in Midlothian and later a member of Christ Church in College Station. He lived a fruitful life and is survived by his wife Ann, son Sam, daughter-in-law Jerri Lynn, grandchildren Sam and Paige, brother Hugh Seale and sister Kathryn Seale Dooley.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bryan I.S.D., Midlothian I.S.D., First Methodist Church of Midlothian or Christ Church of College Station.
