Alexia Aguilar, Texas A&M University Class of 2020, passed away on September 4, 2022. She was born on January 28, 1994, the daughter of Juan Carlos Aguilar and Claudia Azenet Aldaba. She is survived by her parents and her fiancé, Jesus Gomez.
Alexia proudly served our nation as a Machinist Mate in the United States Navy from 2013-2017. After she separated from the Navy, she fulfilled her dream of pursuing higher education and attended Texas A&M University, where she graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. Alexia had a passion for serving others. After graduation, she returned home to the Rio Grande Valley to be close to her family and help individuals in her community.
Alexia was incredibly close to her parents, as an only child, and considered her mom and dad to be her role models. She loved to be active, had a strong faith, and adored her dogs.
A visitation for Alexia was held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM and a Rosary at 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home of the Angel Highland, 6705 N. FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78596. A chapel service was held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 9:00 AM followed by Interment at 10:00 AM at Highland Cemetery Memorial Park, Weslaco, Texas.
