Randy passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on January 30, 2023, at the age of 85.
Randy was born on March 13, 1937, in Ft. Worth, Texas. His parents were Norman G. Curtis and Irmagene M. Curtis. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Dorothy R. Curtis. Randy was married to Dorothy for 49 years.
Randy is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Curtis. Mary Ruth and Randy have been married for 9 years and would have celebrated their 10th anniversary in April. He is also survived by his sons; Mark and his wife Jean, and Calvin and his wife Linda; and survived by his step-sons; Gary Kendall and his wife Belinda, and Brad Kendall and his wife Kristel. In addition, Randy is survived by 5 grandchildren; Cole(Kristin), Brooke(Sam), Amanda(Ellie), Caroline(Darian), and Tyler. Randy is also survived by his step-grandchildren; Kristen, Jeremy(Jessica), Luke, Bradley (Hannah), Bryan(Alix), and Collin (Rae).
Randy graduated from Pearsall High School in 1955 and Texas A&M in 1959 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Immediately, upon graduation Randy served in the Army at Ft. Hood, Texas.
Randy and Dorothy were married in 1962 and moved to San Antonio in 1963. Randy went to work for the accounting firm Ernst & Ernst as a CPA. After public accounting, he went to work for HB Zachry as an accountant and traveled to many foreign countries as part of the Zachry team. Randy was inspired by the Zachry family to become an entrepreneur. Thus began Randy’s career as a business owner. He was an owner of Tiffany Brick, Scott & Jennison and Mission Sales & Janitor Supply. At the end of Randy’s career, he went back to work for Zachry Global where he retired. Randy served on the board of Goodwill and in the Alamo Kiwanis organization.
Randy was a believer and was always active in church and loved studying the bible through organizations like BSF and Ligonier Ministries. Later in life he loved to give to ministries that he cared about. Mary Ruth and Randy are currently involved with Christ Presbyterian Church in New Braunfels.
