December 15, 1942 ~ January 19, 2022

Jerry Lynn Smith, 79, of Brenham, TX, graduated to eternity on January 19, 2022.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. immediately followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor Darren Donaldson officiating.

Jerry was born on December 15, 1942, in Beaumont, TX to Robert Lee Smith Sr. and Thelma Fay Whitlow Smith.

Jerry was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was an active Ham Radio operator and a member of the Washington County Amateur Radio Club. He loved spending time in the outdoors with his chocolate labs, CoaCoa I and CoaCoa II. He was an Army veteran serving in the 82nd Airborne and was very proud of his service. He also previously enjoyed bodybuilding and weightlifting and participated in competitions.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Judy Pegram Smith; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle Catron and husband DeWayne, and Leslie Holderfield and husband Jeffery; sister-in-law, Altha Hall Smith; grandchildren, Donavan Anderson Catron, Dakota Alicia Catron, Jillian Lee Holderfield, and Layni Janae Holderfield; and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Robert L. Smith Jr., and Eugene B. Smith; and sister-in-law, Shirley Mitchell Smith.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Donavan Catron, DeWayne Catron, Jeffery Holderfield, Trey Smith, and members of the Washington County Amateur Radio Club.

As per his wishes, Jerry is being cremated; therefore, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Jerry L. Smith and directed to any of the following: Fellowship Baptist Church at 2000 FM-389, Brenham, TX 77833, or the Washington County Amateur Radio Club at PO Box 44, Brenham, TX 77834, or Amedisys Foundation at 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
