December 12, 1943 – January 4, 2023

Lonnie Lee Carey, 79, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in his home surrounded by loved ones.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Graveside services will follow the funeral at Wheat Cemetery at 12:00 pm following the funeral services Saturday.

Friends can pay their respects and visit with the family from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, on Friday January 13, 2023 at the funeral home.

Lonnie was born in Cawthon, Texas on December 12, 1943. He had 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

He graduated in 1962 from A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, Texas and then enrolled into Texas A&M University which he graduated from in 1968 with a degree in Business Administration.

Lonnie made a career out of working for Alenco Building Products for over 25 years. He started in the Screen Dept. and upon graduation he quickly advanced to become Comptroller for the company. Lonnie received Redman’s Ring of Honor award in 1983.

He enjoyed spending time out on his land in Millican, Texas, growing gardens and building decks and barns. He also enjoyed hosting frequent family BBQS for all to enjoy.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Davis Carey and Minnie Mae Jericho German.

He is survived by son, Brian Carey and Tina Richards of Bryan, Texas; four sisters, Mary Martin of Bryan, Texas, Ruby Joy of Roosevelt, Texas., Shirley Rogers of Rockdale, Texas and Elizabeth Boyd of Somerville TX. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Candice Richards and fiancé Chris Carson of College Station, Texas, Jennifer Carey of Austin, Texas, Cory Richards of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Holly Richards and fiancé Jeff Curtiss of College Station, Texas, and Brittany Richards of Bryan, Texas. Lonnie is also survived by nine great- grandchildren consisting of two girls and seven boys.
