John J. Quesenberry

May 10, 1947 - November 21, 2022

John Quesenberry, beloved father and friend passed away on November 21st, 2022, at 75, from complications of a fall and stroke. He spent his final days surrounded by his family and loved ones.

John was born in Brooklyn, New York, on May 10, 1947, and he spent his early years living the life of a military brat before settling in San Antonio, Texas, to graduate high school in 1966. Knowing that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps, he joined the Texas A&M Corp of Cadets as part of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ‘70, where he made life-long friends while training to be an Air Force officer.

Upon graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Construction, he joined the Air Force and discovered his love of flying as a C-130 Hercules pilot. Upon leaving the air force in 1979, he joined the Air National Guard as part of the 181st Tactical Airlift Squadron, where he served until his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1999. In 1990-1991 he proudly answered the call to serve when his unit was activated for Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

After leaving the Air Force and moving to Texas, John settled down with his family in the Dallas area as a real estate agent, eventually joining REMAX, where he worked for 38 years, developing great friendships with his co-workers and clients. John loved going on adventure travels with his wife, Karen, and close friends, flying planes, riding roller coasters, playing golf, drinking wine – especially on Wednesdays, going to the movies, watching anything Texas A&M sports-related, and playing with his family dog, Oliver. But more than anything, he liked bragging about his kids.

John was predeceased by his wife, Karen, his mother, Claire, and his stepmother, Tieko.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenna and Shad; grandson, Micah; his daughter, Kendra; his son, Caden; his father, Robert; his sister and brother-in-law, Carolyne and Mike; his ex-wife and co-parent, Tyra; and many loving friends and extended family.

To honor John’s memory, we are holding a celebration of his life on December 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the T. Boone Pickens Center, 12477 Merit Dr, Dallas, TX 75251. We invite anyone who knows him to attend and remember his wonderful life. Flowers are welcome, but if you would like to donate in his name in lieu of, we suggest the Texas A&M Corp of Cadets General Scholarship Fund. https://www.txamfoundation.com/give.aspx
