William Harold Sellers died peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. He was born December 9, 1934, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to Lila Mae Roebuck Sellers and Homer Lee Sellers, Sr.

After moving with his family to Houston as a teenager, he attended Lanier Middle School and Lamar High School, graduating with the Class of 1952. At Lamar Harold met Betty Bowlin and they became friends. They began dating after their freshman years, Harold's in College Station, and Betty's at Baylor. They married after graduation in June, 1956, then Harold began law school at the University of Houston. After serving in the Air Force JAG in Amarillo, they settled back in Houston. For more than 50 years, Harold practiced law and developed residential real estate, with partners including John Buvens and George "Bubba" Berg. He founded Guardian Title Company and Medical Center Bank.

Harold was a member of South Main Baptist Church for more than 60 years, where he was a deacon, taught Sunday School, and served on numerous committees, chairing many. He coached in and was President of West University Little League. Among his philanthropic gifts are endowed scholarships at Texas A&M, Houston Baptist University, and The University of Houston Law Center.

Harold was a loving and devoted husband to Betty until her death in 2018. He was also predeceased by his parents; sister, Ruth Coursey; and brother, Lee Sellers. A loving and beloved father and grandfather, he is survived by daughter Sally Reed (Roman), son Steve Sellers (Laurie), son Phil Sellers (Dee); grandchildren Suzy Reed Thompson (Paul), Travis Reed (Caroline), Forrest Reed (Chelsea), Shannon Sellers (Kala), Sawyer Sellers, Shelby Buckalew (Austen), Hunter Sellers (Georgia McLendon), Harrison Sellers (Kathryn), and Hailey Sellers; and great-grandchildren Sally Thompson, Trey Thompson, Colton Sellers, Lawson Sellers, Wesley Buckalew, Charlie Buckalew, and Eileen Sellers.

The family is grateful to the staff at The Hallmark who cared for Harold during his last years. A memorial service will take place Friday, January 20, at 2:00 p.m., at South Main Baptist Church, 4100 Main Street, Houston, Texas, in the Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The South Main Baptist Foundation.
