Dr. Ronald Charles Francis, DVM
August 16, 1932 - December 28, 2022

Dr. Ronald Charles Francis, DVM, age 90, of Pass Christian, MS, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Joyce Goubler Francis. Father of Lisa Short (Arthur), Keith Francis, Mike Francis (Catina), Karen Kelley (Rodger) and Elizabeth Rose (Jeff). Son of the late Felix Francis, Sr. and Clara Dornhofer Francis. Brother of Felix Francis Jr. Grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

A native of New Orleans, he graduated from Jesuit High School in 1950. After graduation, he attended L.S.U. for three years in pre-veterinary classes and also joined the ROTC.

He then applied to and was accepted by Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1957. Dr. Francis then returned to New Orleans and joined the Gentilly Animal Hospital.

In October 1962, he moved to Slidell and opened the Slidell Veterinary Clinic, which was a 24/7 practice that encompassed large and small animal medicine. After 51 years, 1 month and 12 days, he retired. He spent much of his retirement doing relief veterinary work, fishing and watching his favorite football teams—the Saints and of course, the Aggies.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA., on Wednesday, January 4, 2022 at 2:00 P.M.

Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation on Wednesday after 12:00 noon, until funeral time.

Donations to any Humane Society or Wild at Heart Rescue, preferred, in lieu of flowers.
