John Douglas Brockway
November 7, 1980 – December 5, 2022

Chief Warrant Officer 3 John Douglas Brockway, 42, of Kempner, Texas died on December 5, 2022 in Ewa Beach, HI.

John was a loving husband to his wife, Mandy, for 10 years and the devoted father of two wonderful daughters, Julie and Charlotte (Charlie).

John was born on November 7, 1980, in Honolulu, HI to David and Debra Brockway. John graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1998 where he played soccer and ran track. He attended Southwestern University (now Texas State University) and Texas A&M at the Galveston campus. John graduated from Texas A&M in 2007. In 2009 John joined the U.S. Army as a Chinook helicopter mechanic. In 2013 John was selected to attend the Army Flight School at Fort Rucker, AL and he graduated as an AH-64 (Apache) pilot in 2015. His initial assignment was with the Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, TX and he deployed with them to Iraq, Germany, and Afghanistan. John was next assigned to the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade at Wheeler Army Airfield, HI.

John married the love of his life, Amanda (Mandy) Herring, on October 22, 2012, and she became his strength and greatest supporter.

John is survived by his wife, Mandy, and two daughters, Julie and Charlie of Cocoa Beach, Florida, his mother, Debra Brockway, and father, Mike Swinney, of Kempner, TX.
