Jesse H. Kidd, II
November 16, 1944 - August 3, 2022

Jesse H. Kidd, II of Arlington, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2022, at the age of 77 after a short illness.

Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Ada, of almost 25 years. He will be missed by many friends and relatives whose lives he greatly enriched in countless ways, including his stepsons, Darin and Dallas Deaver and their families, and his Aunt Shirley Myers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie and Jesse H. Kidd, and his sister Linda Wetz.

Jesse was born on November 16, 1944, in Goose Creek, Texas, and graduated from Baytown High School. As a young man, Jesse was proud to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve where he became an expert rifleman.

In 1968 Jesse graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Architectural Construction, which started him on the path to a rewarding 38-year career as a Senior Architect with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This career afforded him the opportunity to travel and work in many interesting places in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. He was recognized with the Meritorious Civilian Service Award for outstanding professional performance and superb contribution to the mission of the USACE. In 1988 he became a member of the American Institute of Architects.

On September 11, 1997, Jesse married the love of his life, Ada, in Beaufort, North Carolina, and they spent the next 25 years working, traveling, and enjoying a wonderful life together. Some of Jesse's favorite pastimes were playing a round of golf with friends, cooking up delicious meals with Ada, and recounting humorous tales of his adventures in college and career. Jesse's kind and warm heart, generosity of spirit, and engaging personality endeared him to people wherever he went, and he formed many friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 9, 6-8 p.m., with graveside services scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, 10 a.m., at Mt. Olivet Funeral Home, 2301 N. Sylvania Ave., Fort Worth, Texas.
