Nicholas James Brueckner
July 9, 2001 – June 17, 2022

IN THE CARE OF
Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park & Funeral Care

Nicholas (Nick) James Brueckner, age 20 of Hockley, Texas passed away peacefully and pain free after a 2 ½ year battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Nicholas attended Rosehill Christian School from Pre-K-12TH grade. He was proud to be a Texas A&M Aggie where he was majoring in business finance. Gig’em

He was an active child to say the least, showing cattle starting at age 4, hunting, football, basketball, baseball, a cheerleader during high school, water skiing, hiking, biking, snowboarding/skiing and his all time love and passion Kart Racing. He began racing at the age of 8, winning multiple national championships, racing internationally in Brazil and twice on Team USA in the US and in Italy. In the last few years Nick still managed to race on the national level. In each race, with his entire left shoulder & muscles removed & while going through chemo/radiation, he was either inside the Top 10, Top 5 or fighting for the win. Because that is who he was…….a fighter. While all of this is pretty impressive his greatest accomplishment was just being himself. He loved BIG, he met and made friends everywhere he went, was truly interested in how he could make other people happy & their lives better, he loved doing random acts of kindness, would light up a room with his smile, laughter, humor and goofiness. He was hard working, always striving to be better than the day before and encouraging others to do the same. To quote a few people, “Nick is an American badass”

Nicholas was met in heaven by his Papa, Tom Zulim. He is survived by his Mimi, Laura Zulim; his mother Kirsten Wendt and her husband Dustin; sisters Elisa Haggard and Eddi Rose Wendt; great grandmothers Treva Snider and Gloria Brueckner; Poppi, Scott Brueckner; Auntie and Uncle Brooks Wall, cousins Emma, Ethan & Evan; Aunt Shelley & Uncle John Avila; Uncle “Tay Tay” Taylor Baum; Uncle Branden Brueckner; Uncle Justen & Aunt Jovana Brueckner as well as tons of family and friends all over the world.

A Celebration of Nick’s life will be held on July 16, 2022 @ 5:00pm at his family home.

Memorial donations may be made to Little Warrior Foundation @ littlewarrior.org in honour of Nicholas. The Little Warrior Foundation has a simple mission: To fund and find a lasting cure for childhood cancer, with a specific focus on Ewing’s Sarcoma
