Kristi D. Baber

October 12, 1977 - July 21, 2022

Kristi Baber, 44, of Waco, passed into eternity into the loving arms of her savior Jesus Christ in the afternoon of July 21, 2022.  A funeral service and celebration of her life will be 10 am, Tuesday, July 26th at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas Baber officiating.  There will be a private interment at Oakwood Cemetery.  A Visitation with the family will be 5-7 pm, Monday, July 25th at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Kristi Danette Morris was born October 12, 1977, the only daughter of Jimmy Morris and Janice Morris in Cleburne, Texas. She grew up in Whitney, Texas where she graduated as Valedictorian in 1996. She attended Texas A&M University and graduated with her degree in Information and Operations Management in 2001. She and her husband, Sam, met in College Station and were married in Whitney, Texas in 2004. She and her husband settled in Waco in 2012 where she set aside her career in computer programming and began homeschooling her children, Benjamin (11) and Matthew (9), a ministry that continued until the time of her passing.

Kristi and her husband were active in their local church, Fellowship Bible Church, as well as supporters of Truth For Life ministries, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Bryan, sponsors of Christian education for children in Africa and India, as well as sponsoring individual missionaries in Asia.

Kristi’s interests included sports, especially baseball, Aggie baseball, and many outdoor activities including photography, skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. However, her true love was for Jesus and her family, to whom she was deeply devoted. She was a strong supporter of her husband and a woman who followed a strong conviction in teaching her children to know and obey the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Morris.

She is survived by her husband, Sam; children, Benjamin and Matthew; mother, Janice; grandparents Jessy and Inetta Elmore; her aunt, Susie and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Carl Chakmakjian, her oncologist, for treating her with care and compassion and for guiding them through the difficult, but critical decisions near the end of her life. They also wish to thank the countless family members and friends for their prayers and support, including members and pastors from Fellowship Bible Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church. Thanks to the great staff from her husband’s dental offices who helped him to be with his Kristi during her last weeks and for their prayers and support. To the many others who prayed for her, from literally all over the world, we thank you.

In lieu of flowers and in appreciation for their Assistance with the service, please make memorial contributions to the missions fund at Emmanuel Baptist Church (7320 Steep Hollow Rd, Bryan, TX 77808 or ebcbryan.org).
