William David Greathouse
July 3, 1947 ~ September 24, 2022

William David Greathouse passed away on September 24, 2022 at the age of 75.

He was born on July 3, 1947 and raised in Beaumont, TX before attending college at Texas A&M University where he graduated as a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 1969.

He served his country as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army before living out his career as a registered pharmacist. David and his wife Young Hee were wed on January 23, 1980 and shared 42 years of marriage before his soul was called to rest with her lovingly present beside him.

He will be remembered as a man of few words whose fierce convictions were balanced by a playful sense of humor and knack for childlike silliness. He resolutely valued hard work and was ceaselessly unimpressed by social status or material possessions. A simple man with very few true passions, he was perhaps most distinctly known for his sports enthusiasm and unparalleled Aggie pride.

David is preceded in death by his parents John Greathouse and Lenora Wesson and survived by his wife Young Hee, sons Todd, Joey, and Willie, daughter Gina, and grandchildren Kyle, Kevin, Asceneth, Caleb, and Ella.

Visitation will be held at 11AM on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Seaside Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, TX with a prayer service to follow at 12PM.

A private family burial is being arranged so that David may be honored and laid to rest at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of his memory to the Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation.
