Gregory Ellis Coulter
August 27, 1956 - September 3, 2022

Gregory Ellis Coulter passed away peacefully Saturday, September 3, 2022 shortly after his 66th birthday.

Greg attended Memorial High School, and Texas A&M University. Afterwards, he served in the United States Army from 1987 to 1991, to include service in the Persian Gulf War.

Together with his wife of 44 years, Kathryn Robertson Coulter, Greg established Houston Lawn Management, serving Houston for 20 years. His career turned to the restaurant business next when he established the Burger Shack. He retired in 2018 and began focusing on seeing the world and spending time with his family.

Greg was an avid traveler, bicyclist, and scuba diver. However, his greatest passion was Scouts BSA. He started his Scouting career as a Den Leader for Pack 673, Scoutmaster of Troop 673, Assistant Cubmaster for Pack 673 and recently volunteered to be the Pack 673 Committee Chair. He had the opportunity to participate in Scouts with all 3 of his children, and many of his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Eugene Coulter and Naomi Shiflett Coulter, his brother Steven Brent Coulter, and his sister Pamela Jean Grube.

He is survived by his brother, Michael Paul Coulter and wife Kathryn Robertson Coulter. He is also survived by his loving family that he and Kathryn created: his daughter Kathlyn Coulter Curtis, daughter Caroline Coulter Romano and husband Matthew Walker Romano, and his son Aaron Ellis Coulter and wife Emily Hannah Coulter. Greg was most proud of being a grandfather to his ten grandchildren, Anne Catherine Coulter, Emma Nell Romano, Eleanor Tweed Coulter, Jean-Luc Andreas Curtis, Rosalie Ruby Romano, Lorelei Marie Romano, Patrick Ellis Coulter, Jake Walker Romano, Cecilia Kathryn Romano, and Kieran Sebastian Curtis. He came to be known as "Pop Pop" and was known to all the grandchildren to be the joker of the family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14 from 5:30-7:30 PM with the Rosary starting at 6:30 PM at Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham at 7809 Shadyvilla Ln. A funeral mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham on Thursday, September 15 at 10:30 AM. A reception will follow at the church.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Boy Scouts of America Sam Houston Area Council Memorial Tribute Fund.
