Thomas Andrew Stafford
January 12, 1939 - November 30, 2021

Thomas Andrew Stafford, 82, passed away in Houston, Texas, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center after a valiant battle with melanoma on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

Tom was born January 12, 1939, in Galveston, Texas to Rosa Mae and Fred Stafford. He was raised in Galveston and graduated from Ball High School. He received his degree in architecture from Texas A&M University in 1962. He worked his entire career as an architect, retiring in 2018 from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Throughout his life, he lived and worked in Galveston, Houston, and Huntsville, Texas.

Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara, his daughter, Jill Smith and husband Drue Smith, and grandchildren, Sydney and Avery Smith.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Mae and Fred Stafford, twin brother Bob Stafford, brother Guy Stafford, and sister Rose Marie Cintron.

Tom always had a positive attitude and great sense of humor. He loved his family and friends immensely and was very devoted to them. He will be missed dearly and fondly remembered.

We will celebrate Tom’s life on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1101 Antoine Houston, TX 77055. Visitation at 9:00 am, with a service at 10:00 am.
