Richard Lee "Dickie" Killian
April 20, 1937 - February 15, 2021

Richard Lee Killian (“Dickie”), age 83, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2021, with his daughters by his side. His final wish was to be reunited with his beloved Carol Ann. He was born April 20, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas. He was the youngest of three sons of Martin B. (Doc) Killian and Bobbie Lee Killian. He attended Woodlawn Elementary School, San Antonio Academy, Jefferson High School, Texas Military Institute, and graduated from Texas A&M, class of 1959.

After serving seven years in the US Army Reserves, he was honorably discharged in 1962. He spent 33 years working in the family’s highway construction business, retiring in 1985. Over the years, Dick played many rounds of golf with friends and loved to spend time boating and fishing on the Gulf. He shared his love of travel with Carol Ann. A devoted husband and father, Dick was happiest with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 58 years, Carol Ann; his brothers Robert B. Killian and John M. Killian; his brother in law Richard B. Moore; and his nephew Tito Killian.

He is survived by his daughters Kelly Satel (Jim) and Kathryn Hensey (Thomas); grandchildren Ava and Henry Satel, and Hunter, Gage, Chase and Teel Hensey; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cherished dog Belle. His ashes will be buried next to his beloved wife.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 28th at 4:00 p.m. at The San Antonio Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Defense League, SNIPSA, or a charity of your choice.
