Christopher Slauer
June 29, 1962 - August 2, 2022

Chris Slauer, age 60, passed away August 2, 2022 in Dallas, Texas.

Chris was born on June 29, 1962 in Albany, New York but lived most of his adult life in Texas. In 1986, he graduated from his beloved Texas A&M University, with a degree in Industrial Engineering.

Shortly after graduating, Chris worked in the aerospace division at LTV. In 1996, Chris and a few close friends formed Markpoint, a private equity investment firm, which successfully grew to include a venture capital firm and a commercial real estate investment firm. In 2006, Chris struck out on his own and formed J Alexander Realty Group, a commercial real estate and development company.

Chris met his wife Michele in 1999. On their first date, they attended a Dallas Stars playoff game and, every date thereafter, they cheered on their team until the Dallas Stars won the Stanley Cup. Hockey was Chris’ passion. Recognizing his true soulmate, Chris married Michele in 2000. In 2001, their son Jake was born, followed by Josh in 2002, and Zach in 2004. With three beautiful sons, their family was complete. Chris was a devoted husband and father, with a larger-than-life personality and a heart of gold.

Although each son has unique qualities, they all shared their father’s love of hockey. Attending each game, whether at home or away, Chris was their greatest cheerleader, always on his feet, watching every move and ready with fist bumps, high fives, and encouragement when the boys came off the ice. Chris loved all the boys on the team, often referring to them as “my boys.” Chris’s presence at the hockey rink, with his signature Penguins hoodie, will be missed by his family and friends.

Chris is survived by his wife, Michele Slauer of McKinney, Texas; sons, Jacob, Joshua, and Zachary Slauer, of McKinney, Texas; mother-in-law, Bonita Howell of Mineola, Texas; brother-in-law, Jeff Howell, and his wife Kim, and their three children, of Cypress, Texas, and numerous family and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gayland Howell.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Chris’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/christopher-slauer
