Jim Priddy
August 29, 1944 - March 30, 2022

Jim was born August 29, 1944 in Amherst, Texas and married Connie Lee Dinges on July 1, 1966. He was a graduate of Amherst High School, South Plains Junior College, Texas A&M University Class of 1967 and the University of Colorado.

After graduating from A&M with a BS in Parks Administration, he went to work for the City of Houston in their Parks Dept.; he then took a position with the City of Kingsville, Texas.

In 1973 he accepted a position with the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District and moved his family to Littleton, Colorado where they have made their home for 49 years. He retired from South Suburban on May 1, 2015. One of Jim's proudest accomplishments was acquiring a new service center in 2012 to accommodate the growing needs of the district. He was actively involved in the district's three long-range planning groups that resulted in the Gold Medal 2020 Plan. He was a member of the Colorado Parks and Recreation Association and the National Certification Board, and he was a licensed and certified leisure professional for 24 years.

He has been a member of Arapahoe Road Baptist Church in Centennial, Colorado for 49 years. He served as a deacon; served on the Board of Directors, Chairman of Security Team, taught junior high boys; taught 3rd and 4th graders for over 20 years. He helped plan the Annual Church Golf Tournament for number of years.

He enjoyed golfing and for a number of years he and his wife and two friends would go on a golf tour to different areas of Colorado in the fall. He was very proud of his Hole in One on Mother's Day in 1990.

He served on the Bemis Library Board for several years. He also enjoyed fishing and reading.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Shasta Schroetlin; father William Eugene Priddy; his brother Ben Priddy; brother Darrell Priddy.

He is survived by his 100-year-old mother Wilma Priddy of Amherst, Texas; his wife Connie Priddy of Highlands Ranch; daughter Kimberly Priddy Bain and husband John of Littleton; a sister Eugenia Joy Simpson of Loranger, Louisiana and five grandchildren, Kourtney Schroetlin, Jakob Schroetlin, Justin Schroetlin, Brittney Bain, and Benjamin Bain.
