Donald James Usry

April 13, 1937 - October 25, 1969

Major Donald J. Usry, 32, was killed when the T33 jet trainer he was flying crashed and burned at Peterson Field, Colorado.  

Usry, a former high school football all-American, attended Texas A&M University, West Point Academy and received a M.A. degree from SMU.  He was a math instructor at the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He had flown 283 combat missions in Vietnam.  

Memorial services were held at the Air Force Academy then the body was flown to West Point for burial.  

Survivors include his wife, a son Donald, a daughter Sharon, his parents and grandparents.
