James Paul Worley
March 19, 1947 - July 6, 2022

The Reverend James Paul Worley, 75 of Cibolo, Texas passed away early morning on Wednesday July 6, 2022, peacefully in his home. Paul was born March 19, 1947, in Houston, Texas.

Paul graduated from Texas A&M in 1969 followed by serving as a United States Navy Navigator which included serving during the Vietnam War. He left active duty to follow God’s calling into the Episcopal Church as a Priest and transferring into the United States Navy Reserve. Paul completed his military career as a Naval Commander with 36 collective years of service working with both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corp as a Chaplain. He extended his calling as a Chaplain working with the San Antonio Police Department, San Antonio Rodeo Livestock Committee and The Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. Paul served in many areas of the Episcopal Church, to include, Camp Capers, Happening, Cursillo retreats, Honduras and several Diocesan level committees. Paul believed in supporting the youth of his community helping with the Ag Mechanics at the San Antonio Rodeo, multiple youth groups and the Resurrection and Redeemer Episcopal Day Schools.

Paul is survived by his four children, J. Patrick Worley (Dawn Nicole, wife), Tiffany Marie Andrews-Hooper, Stacy Dianne Stulsas (James Aaron, husband) and Janet Lyne Worley (Gabriel Moreno, partner); brother, Carlos S. Worley III (Joy Elaine, wife); brother-in-law, Robert Manning Meador (Debra Ann, wife); grandchildren, Justin Paul Worley (Emily Hazel, wife), Jaryn Paige Worley, Mary Elizabeth Stulsas (Sharon Fingerut, boyfriend), Jacy Ann Stulsas, Rebekah Grace Andrews, and Lauren Elizabeth Hooper; great-grandchild, Emma Jean Worley; and close family friends, Andrea Williams-Knight, Harry and Rosemary Dinwiddie, Ann Montes, Tommy Barrow, Abbey Fuller and countless others.

Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Ruth Worley; parents, Carlos S. and Viola Virginia Worley; in-laws, Oliver Manning and Ruth Roberta Meador; and his grandson, Jayson Avery Stulsas.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
