Jefferson Brian Abbott
December 5, 1970 – June 13, 2022

Jefferson Brian Abbott, 51, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022. He was born on December 5, 1970, in Dallas, to Charles & Lynda Abbott. Jeff was a 1989 graduate of J.J. Pearce High School, where he enjoyed playing tennis, golf and soccer with the Minutemen Soccer Club. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 1994. While at A&M, he was a member of the Aggie Corp of Cadets and served with pride and honor carrying his love of the maroon and white throughout his life. Along with making lifelong friends in Killer K2, he met the love of his life in Aggieland, Felicia Van Wagoner. They married on September 16, 1995 and created a life for themselves in Anna, Texas. Jeff and Felicia have a son, Dustin, born on October 27, 2005.

Jeff shared Felicia’s passion for horses and equestrian sports. As a talented artist, he enjoyed woodworking and creating beautiful pieces of handcrafted items for the equestrian rider along with designing handcrafted jumps for their arenas. Jeff had a passion for fitness and running marathons. He accomplished many amazing goals along his journey. He worked as a computer programmer for Athena Health (formerly G.E.) for the last 25 years. Jeff was quiet natured soul with a brilliant mind, and many talents. More than anything, Jeff was a devoted husband and father and friend to all he loved so dearly. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 26 years, Felicia Abbott; son, Dustin Abbott; parents, Lynda & Charles Abbott of Dallas; sister, Kelly Engelbert of Celina; niece, Emmy Engelbert; nephew, Thomas Engelbert; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Paul & Margaret Van Wagoner of Anna; and brothers-in-law, Paul and John Van Wagoner.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 10am at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, TX 75252.

The Charles Abbott family and Paul Van Wagoner family wish thank you for your presence with the sharing of your prayerful love and support. We feel so blessed and hold you in our hearts with special meaning.
