Charles B. Teas
July 18, 1938 ~ May 16, 2022

Charles Bryant Teas, age 83, passed away May 16, 2022. He was born on July 18, 1938 at home on Teas Street in Bellaire, Texas to Blanche Bryant Teas and Fred Augustus Teas. He was raised in Bellaire, Texas. He graduated from Bellaire High School in 1957, worked at Teas Nursery, Inc., graduated from Texas A&M University in 1962 with a Bachelor’s of Science, and obtained his Masters of Science from Sam Houston State University in 1968.

Charles married Karen Keith Teas on October 20, 1962. He retired as Professor from Del Mar College (AKA Coach Teas) after 23 years, FBC Gymnastics (Teas System Gymnastics), & Metro Properties in 1993. Charles was a long-standing active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church for 53 years. Charles was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and husband.

Charles enjoyed coaching gymnastics, swimming, diving, surfing, and helping others. He also participated and excelled in all these sports into his 80’s. Charles was well known for his sense of humor and jokes. At the age of 81 he was very proud to bring home three gold medals from Annapolis Naval Academy in National spring board diving.

Charles is preceded in death by his father Fred A. Teas, by his infant daughter, Theresa Suzanna Teas, his mother, Blanche B. Teas, his brother, John F. Teas.

Left to cherish his memories are wife, Karen Keith Teas; son, Timothy Bryant Teas; daughter, Tamara Teas McCoy; son-in-law, Robert McCoy; grandchildren, Alexander Teas, Emma Latour-Teas, and Mara Schleman; brother Thomas Teas and wife, Dianne Teas; sister-in-law, Patsy Teas, sister-in-law, Jeanne Wilcox and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

We wish to sincerely thank all his family, Vicky Correa, Paul Thomas beloved foreign exchange student, Dr. John E. Schulze, M.D. and all the caregivers at Gracia Hospice and friends.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, May 27, 2022 at St. Johns United Methodist Church, 5300 S. Alameda St.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church, 5300 S. Alameda St.

We will leave you with one of Charles’ favorite replies, “So Far..So Good..” He will be truly missed.
