James Ivey Miller
July 21, 1948 - February 15, 2022

Mr. James "Jim" Ivey Miller, 73, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, holding the hand of his beloved wife, Rose-Marie Miller.

James (Jim) Miller was born in Santiago Chile to Jones and Winnie Davis Miller while they were on missionary work. He finished high school in San Antonio, TX and graduated from Texas A&M where he’d participated in ROTC, then later enlisting in the US Army upon his college graduation. For his service, SPC. Miller served as the Company Secretary for the 72nd Engineering Company, and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and other recognitions. Since Jim completed his training at Ft. Benning, GA, this later inspired him to come live in the state, where he loved all the green spaces.

He worked at Burroughs, then later for TRW Mission, but upon meeting his wife Rose-Marie, he changed his career path to become a logistics expert and licensed Customshouse Broker. In 1994, Jim and Rose-Marie opened their own freight forwarding and customs brokerage business named JRM International Freight Forwarding Inc and maintained it until retirement.

For those that knew him, Jim was known for the love of his family, his close friends, his dry wit, his love of good food, and an occasional well aged scotch. Jim suffered some long term health issues and lost his battle after spending one last loving Valentine’s Day with his wife.

A graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 9:00AM, Monday, February 28th, 2022 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
