Shelly Lynn Herthneck
November 1, 1971 – January 4, 2022

Loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend Shelly Herthneck, 50, of San Antonio, TX, went to be with her heavenly father in the early morning of January 4, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband Robert '91, her two children, Saige (16) and Andi (14) along with her mother and father Karen and Steve Hale, sister Donna Hale and brother Bradley Hale.

Shelly was born in Baton Rouge, LA on November 1, 1971 while her father was attending Louisiana State University. Her parents moved back to Texas shortly after her birth for her father to attend Texas Tech University. She was raised in her home town of Miami, Texas

Shelly graduated from Miami High School in Miami, TX as Valedictorian of her class of 1990 and attended Texas A&M University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications in 1994. From there, she attended West Texas A&M University achieving a Master’s Degree in Speech Communication. Shelly married Robert Herthneck on March 20, 2004.

She worked throughout her marriage as an Adjunct Professor of Speech, first at Tarrant County Community College in Ft. Worth, TX and then later at Alamo Community Colleges in San Antonio, TX all while raising her family. Later, Shelly worked as the operator of the family HTeaO franchise store in San Antonio, TX managing store operations on a daily basis.

Family was always a top priority to Shelly. She deeply appreciated and always looked forward to spending quality time with her family. She had great pride for her children no matter what event they were participating in and was always cheering them on from the sideline. During her “free time”, she was an avid reader. Shelly was a loyal Texas Aggie alumni that would cheer on her fightin’ Texas Aggies any chance she could!

She is also survived by her nephews Kutter, Fletcher and Trevor Gill; Jett and Lawson Hale; nieces Harper Hale and Evan Herthneck; sister-in-law Melissa Hale; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jackie and Monty Boltinghouse; brother-in-law J.D. Herthneck; father-in-law Jack Herthneck.

Celebration of Life/Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 9th at Cross Mountain Church, 24891 Boerne Stage Road, San Antonio, TX 78255 at 4 PM with coffee and snacks for family & friends of family to follow at the church.

Flowers and cards can be sent to Cross Mountain Church or her home at 25402 Tidal Creek, San Antonio, TX 78255. Donations can be made in her name for Brain Cancer Research at https://headforthecure.org/.
