Kenneth Franklin Robson
January 22, 1955 - January 8, 2022

Kenneth Franklin Robson was born on January 22, 1955, in La Grange, Texas. He passed away on January 8, 2022, after a heart attack and a courageous seven year battle from a Traumatic Brain Injury.

Ken grew up in Waco, Texas, where he graduated from Richfield High School in 1973. He continued his family legacy, and attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with a double major in Environmental Design and Construction Management. Thereafter, he worked in the construction industry in Houston, Phoenix, and Santa Fe. Construction was his passion and while working in Santa Fe, in addition to solidifying his addiction to spicy food and a hatred for cilantro, he discovered a love for teaching, a passion for improving the industry, and a desire to spend more time with his family at home. This discovery led him to Colorado State University where he obtained his masters in Construction Education. He began his teaching career at Arizona State University and in 1994, he moved to the University of Oklahoma.

He taught in the Construction Science Division of the School of Architecture for 22 years, serving as the Director of the Division for 19 of those years. His work in the field of construction science on both a national and international level led him to receive the Associated Schools of Construction Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.

Ken had a unique, adventurous spirit, a fantastic sense of humor and he truly loved to focus on serving others. This love for serving others led him to the Cleveland County Christmas Store, a volunteer project close to his heart. Ken loved to travel and learn, but enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the Price is Right with his favorite cat napping in his lap. Ken was someone who could look at a problem objectively and was so gifted at giving advice in a way that rarely upset anyone and usually left them laughing. In general, he left those blessed enough to be in his life with a smile on their face and a laugh in their heart.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine June Robson and William 'Bill' Robson, III. He is survived by his wife, Leigh, of Norman, OK; daughter, Shana Robson Conner '11 and her husband, Toby, of Dallas, TX; son, Thomas Robson of Norman; his brother, William 'Willy' Robson and his wife, Sherri; two beautiful granddaughters, Brenleigh and Mavey Conner. For the many other relatives and friends, remembrance services will be held in Norman, OK, and Wimberley, Texas, at later dates. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ken's name may be made to the Cleveland County Christmas Store or to the Haskell and Irene Lemmon Construction Science Department at the University of Oklahoma.
