Robert Walter McCleskey, Jr.
December 17, 1934 - October 26, 2021

Bob McCleskey, a Christ-follower and life-long learner, died of pneumonia on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the age of 86.
Bob is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his daughters Debbie (Greg) O’Donoghue, Jenni (Geoff) Engman, and Cindy '90 (Mike) Crum; his 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Bob was born in Texas to Bob and Virginia McCleskey and primarily grew up in Fort Worth. He graduated from Texas A&M with both Petroleum Engineering and Geology degrees. He attended Stanford University for his Masters in Petroleum Engineering. He enjoyed an incredible career of firsts and stretched his knowledge and understanding continuously – always excited for a new challenge! He was able to see the world and meet, befriend, and work with an amazing array of people.

Bob was married to Charlotte for 59 years. He was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed the outdoors including camping, hiking, skiing, fishing, hunting, and boating. When his international travelling days were complete having enjoyed the food and culture from over 22 countries, Charlotte and Bob settled in Houston. Through his cousin, Jack, he chose to accept the free gift of eternal life offered by Jesus Christ. We now have the assurance of meeting him again in heaven. He became well-known for serving his church community from the Probers Sunday School class, Memorial Assistance Ministry (MAM), Men of Action, and Spirit Key. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30am on November 6th at the Memorial Drive United Methodist Church (12955 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX). Because Bob enjoyed making a difference in others’ lives, donations to:
