Timothy M. Collins
January 03, 1950 - December 21, 2021
Tim Collins passed at his Irving home on Tuesday December 21, from complications of heart disease.
He lived his life on his own terms, with a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. Adored by animals and children. Fan of the Dallas Cowboys and his beloved Aggies. Born in St. Louis, his family moved to Dallas during Tim’s senior year in high school. Following graduation from Thomas Jefferson, Tim attended Texas A&M and was a member of the Corps of Cadets, graduating in 1972 with a degree in electrical engineering and a dedication to the Aggies football team that endured throughout his lifetime.
A student of life, Tim never stopped learning and was always up for a challenge or an adventure. Despite losing a leg to diabetes, he embarked upon a cross-country road trip during which he spent four months living out of his car at Yellowstone National Park, becoming good friends with the park rangers who stopped in to check on him daily, proof that he made friends everywhere he went.
Tim was the eldest of five children and is survived by his parents Robert and Gertrude Collins of Dallas, brothers Tom (Kathy) and Jack (Diana) of Dallas, and Jerry (Kathy) of San Antonio as well as sister Nancy Rizzo (Michael) and numerous nieces and nephews
