Kimberly Nicole Hartfield
May 27, 1995 - August 21, 2021

Kimberly was born on May 27th, 1995 and passed away due to an illness on Saturday, August 21st, 2020.

She went to Irving High School and graduated in 2013, she received her Bachelor's degree from Texas State University and graduated in 2018. After that she stayed at Texas State University to receive her Master's degree in Sociology and graduated in 2020.

Kimberly joined the Texas A&M Sociology Department in 2020 and was entering her second year of doctoral studies.

She previously worked as a Graduate Assistant at Texas State University. Her research, titled “Adverse childhood experiences contribute to race/ethnic differences in post-secondary academic performance among college students,” was published just after she passed.

She was really passionate about her research and looking at minitories’ experiences with colleges and how to navigate that, especially first-generation students. She spent time on worthy causes and things that were important to her. She was optimistic and positive. She was ambitious. She set goals, and she had dreams and she achieved them.

Kimberly was incredibly thoughtful to others and would often go out of her way to remember all the little details about the people in her life. She was the type of person who made you want to better yourself just by knowing and respecting her.
